Whether you are a new seeker, or just haven't started yet, today is a good day to challenge yourself to get into God's word.
Some people try to read the bible in a year--too big of a task? (this is true for many people).
So start smaller. If you read a page a day you can finish in about three years--it is not a race to finish it, and reading it slower can help it seep in more. Others have started by setting a time limit of 15 minutes.
If something happens and a day gets skipped DON'T try to make it up, just start where you are.
John McArthur said he would pick one book from the bible and read the same one everyday for a month.
If you don't quite understand what you are reading, don't make that your road block, instead get a commentary book to help you. A great one is by Henrietta C. Mears titled "What the Bible is all about: I know what the Bible says, but I don't always know what it means."
Just so you koow,...the real goal is not just to read...the real goal is to get to know HIM.
